Usually perennial, 15-75 cm, densely covered with short glandular and eglandular hairs, later glabrescent. Stem terete or subangular, simple or with few branches. Basal leaves long-petiolate, lamina ovate or triangular-ovate, subentire, repand or crenate, 2,5-8 x 1-3 cm; cauline leaves much smaller, bract-like, entire or denticulate. Inflorescence simple, cylindrical, lax, few-flowered. Bracts 7-14 mm, oblong- to linear-Ianceolate, entire. Pedicels 2-4 mm, ebracteolate. Calyx 4-8 mm, 2 lower lobes oblong to ovate, others narrower. Corolla yellowish to bluish green, 20-35 mm diam., glandular outside, upper lobes with purplish lines. Filaments with whitish yellow and purplish violet wool, 2 anterior anthers decurrent onto filament, 4,5-5 mm. Capsule densely covered with glandular and eglandular hairs, broadly ellipsoid, 5-8 x 4-6 mm. Fl. 4-6. Forests, bushy and waste places, s.l.-450 m.
