Biennial, 70-150 cm, densely woolly-tomentose below, shortly and loosely tomentose, subglabrous or glabrous above, eglandular. Stem robust, terete, longitudinally striate or grooved, simple or branched. Basal leaves oblong, 8-40 x 3,5-15 cm, obtusely lobed above, pinnatifid to pinnatisect with triangular, acuminate, irregularly dentate segments below, petiole 3-8 cm; upper cauline undivided, triangular or cordate-lanceolate, acuminate, dentate. Inflorescence with numerous branches, forming oblong panicle, with loose clusters of 2-9 flowers. Bracts triangular-ovate to lanceolate, acuminate. Pedicels to 6 mm; bracteoles ovate, minute. Calyx 3-5 mm, glabrous or with few stellate hairs, lobes linear-lanceolate or linear, mucronate. Corolla yellow, 20-25 mm diam., with pellucid glands, glabrous outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool, 2 anterior glabrous above. Capsule oblong-elliptic, 4-6 x 2,5-3,5 mm, loosely stellate-hairy, glabrescent. Fl. 5-6. Pinus brutia forest, ruins, s.l.-540 m.
