Suffrutescent perennial, 24-40 cm or more. Stems ± glabrous to very sparingly and minutely glandular; inflorescence sparingly glandular. Leaves pinnate, ± glabrous; pinnae ± petiolate, ovate, margin dentate, crenate or pinnatifid. Cymes 3-8-flowered, both branches of first dichotomy usually developing; peduncles sparingly glandular, 7-16 mm. Alar pedicels glandular, 1,7-6 mm, longer than glabrous bracteoles. Calyx lobes 1,5-2,5 x 0,6-1,3 mm, glabrous; scarious margin whitish, narrow. Corolla maroon, 4-7 mm. Stamens exserted; staminode narrowly ovate to narrowly oblong. Capsule 3-5 x 3,5-5 mm, subglobose, apiculate. Fl, 3-5. Limestone rocks, ruins, s.l.-1300 m.
Probably endemic; records from Palestine and Jordan are doubtful. E. Medit. element.
