Very similar in general appearance to H. suaveolens, differing chiefly in the broad, flat, apical tubercle of the young ovary segments, and the usually suborbicular and distinctly erose-denticulate sepals. Fl. 5-6. Steppe, clay turf and fallow fields, 300-1400 m.
