Plant 15-50 cm, much branched, rigid. Leaf laciniae linear, adpressed-pubescent. Racemes 3-10-flowered. Peduncle and pedicels stout, pubescent with yellow glandular hairs. Bracts entire. Bracteoles subopposite, short. Flowers violet-blue, 28-35 mm. Sepals 8-10 mm, spur about 2 x as long as corolla, flexuous. Corolla 3-lobed, 10-12 mm, with rounded lateral lobes longer than the bifid upper lobe. Follicles borne on long divergent pedicels, adpressed-pilose, semi-obovate, longrostrate. Fl. 6-9. Steppe, fields, banks, 800-1600 m.
