Perennial. Stems 5-17 cm, erect, unbranched, eglandular-pubescent. Leaves narrowly oblong, 1-2-pinnatisect, 13-33 x 3-10 mm, serrate; basal with 1-3 cm petioles, cauline few, verticillate. Inflorescence a many-flowered, dense oblong lanate short spike. Bracts crenate to pinnatifid, 9-15 mm. Pedicels suberect, 1,5-4 mm. Calyx cylindrical, 6-11 mm; tube 4-6 mm; lobes 2-5 mm.. Corolla white, pale yellow to pinkish on withering, 17-23 mm; tube 11-14 mm, cylindrical, bent near base; upper lip obtuse, ± straight. Anthers not mucronate; 2 filaments villous, 2 glabrous. Capsule oblong-lanceolate, 11-15 x 6-7 mm, glabrous, acute, oblique. Fl. 7-8. Alpine meadows, limestone and igneous grassy and rocky slopes, near melting snow, 2000-3660 m.
Caucasus, Georgia, Soviet Armenia, N. Iran. Hyrcano-Euxine element.
