Differs from S. byzantina by its shortly adpressed-tomentose indumentum, upper surfaces of leaves rugose, and patent, longer, triangular-lanceolate calyx teeth. Fl. 5-9. Eroded sloping banks, fallow fields, hills, 40-1750 m.
