Perennial, 70-90 cm, simple or little-branched, densely adpressed white-tomentose below, loosely tomentose, ± glabrescent above. Middle cauline leaves linear-oblong, cuneate, acutish, often enlarged and auriculate at base, crenate-dentate, 1-2.5 x 0.2-0.6 cm, bearing buds in their axils. Verticillasters 5-15, 1-4.5 cm distant. Middle bracts broadly orbicular to reniform, 0.6-0.8 x 0.8-1 cm, cuspidate , puberulent, eglandu1ar or glandular, becoming greenish, often red-suffused. Calyx 6.5-8 mm, tube subglabrous with few glands, teeth 2-2.5 mm, acute, with curled eglandular hairs. Corolla yellow, 9-10 mm, subglabrous and with brown striae inside. Fl. 5-8. Rocky limestone slopes, 30-80 m.
