Similar in facies and indumentum to S. cadmica but leaves ovate-oblong to oblong, 2-5.5 x 1-2 cm; pedicels 3-5 mm; calyx tubular campanulate, c. 15 mm, ±tinged purple, scarcely expanding and widening in fruit , upper lip clearly 3-dentate; corolla violet-blue, 30-35 mm, with subequallips; and pale brown nutlets. Fl. 5. Open rocky and gravelly places, c. 920 m.
Endemic. E. Medit. element. A little-known species close to S. cadmica but apparently specifically distinct on account of its usually oblong leaves, scarcely expanded fruiting calyces, and violet-blue corollas.
