Perennial; stems many from a woody rootstock, erect 25-50 cm, densely glandular above with papillae and spreading glandular hairs. Leaves ± ovate, 10-25 x 7-18 rnm, glandular-pilose, crenulate, truncate; petiole 3-10 mrn. Inflorescence of ± distant shortly pedunculate verticillasters. Bracteoles narrowly elliptic lanceolate, 4-6 x 1-1.5 mm, margins membranous. Calyx ± tubular, wider at apex, 5-6.5 mm, ± straight, scarcely oblique at mouth, densely glandular; teeth subequal, triangular to triangular-lanceolate, c. 1/4-1/3 x tube. Corolla white to pale lilac, 8-9 mm; tube curved, gradually widening above; lower lip strongly  recurved, irregularly crenate. Nutlets ± ellipsoid, trigonous, 1.5-2 x c. 1.2 mm, finely tuberculate above, topped by a tuft of short white hairs. Fl. 7-8. Stony places, screes, 2100-2600 m
Endemic. E. Medit. element. Apparently a distinctive species recognised by the combination of flower colour and the white hairs on the nutlets.
