Suffruticose perennial; flowering stems erect, 10-30 cm, recurved-puberulent. Leaves ovate, 6-10 x 3-5 mm, sometimes shortly revolute, acute, at least mid-vein hispidulous beneath. Inflorescence 5-12 cm, often lax below, dense above. Verticillasters globose, subequal to 1/2 as long as floral leaves, usually many-flowered, cymules pedunculate, subumbellate, calyces pedicellate. Bracteoles subulate, equalling pedicels. Calyx sub-bilabiate, 3.5-4 mm, hispid-plumose on veins and teeth, throat bearded, teeth subulate, slightly shorter than cylindrical tube, upper teeth curved upwards. Corolla pink or purplish, c. 6 mm. Nutlets broadly oblong, 0.6-8 x 0.4 mm, obtuse. Fl. 3-5. Rocky limestone slopes nr coast, phrygana, 30-300 m.
