Corm tunic membranous, splitting into parallel fibres. Leaves 1-2, synanthous, 4.5-9 mm broad. Prophyll absent. Bracteole present, subequal to bract. Throat of perianth yellow, glabrous; segments 2-2.3 x 0.6-1 cm, obtuse, inner 3 white with a yellow base, outer 3 spotted and suffused greyish-blue or purple outside. Filaments 5 mm, yellow, pubescent; anthers 0.9-1 cm, yellow. Style dividing into c. 6 slender yellow or orange branches. 2n = 6. Fl. 2-3. Limestone hills, macchie, phrygana, s.I.-300 m.
