Ascending or procumbent annual with glabrescent or sparsely spreading-hairy stems up to 30 cm. Leaves 2-5 cm; leaflets 5-10 mm, elliptic, obtuse, adpressed simple- pilose, 7-9-paired; stipules 4-6 mm, triangular-lanceolate, black- and white-hairy. Peduncles 6-14 cm, white-pilose, sometimes with black hairs. Flowers in dense 3-9-flowered spikes. Bracts 1-2 mm, lanceolate. Calyx 5-6 mm, tubular-campanulate, black and white ±adpressed simple-hairy; teeth 2,5-3 mm. Corolla yellowish; standard 8-11 mm. Legumes 13-17 mm, linear, slightly bigibbous at base, minutely tuberculate, white-simple-pilose; beak c. 1 mm, curved. Fl. 5-6. Woods, chalk slopes, steppe, 800-1150 m.
