Glabrous, caulescent perennial, 20-40 cm. Leaves 6-15 cm; leaflets 12-23 mm, broadly elliptic to ovate-lanceolate, glabrous or with a few short adpressed simple hairs, especially below, 7-12-paired; stipules c. 15 mm, broadly ovate, herbaceous, joined for ½ of their length. Peduncles 5-10 cm. Inflorescence c. 3 x 1,5-2 cm, a dense oblong to shortly cylindrical, 30-40-flowered spike. Bracts c. 6 mm, linear-lanceolate. Calyx 7-9 mm, tubular-campanulate, shortly black ± spreading simple-hairy; teeth c.2 mm, linear. Corolla violet-blue; standard c. 14 mm. Legume unknown. Fl. 6-7. Alpine pasture, c. 2850 m.
