Dwarf scapose perennial with branched woody caudex. Leaves 4-6 cm; leaflets 2-5 mm, orbicular, with a notched apex, simple-lanate, usually not contiguous at maturity, 15-20-paired; stipules c. 5 mm ovate-lanceolate, without an acumen. Peduncles 3-5 cm. Inflorescence a dense, globose to ovoid, 7-12-flowered spike. Bracts c. 6 mm, lanceolate. Calyx 6-8 mm, tubular, sparsely pilose, with linear teeth c. 2 mm. Corolla violet-purple; standard 12-14 mm. Legume 10-12 mm, triangular-ovoid, flattened, densely lanate; beak c.2 mm. Fl. 7. Mountainous districts, 2300-3200 m.
