Low-growing aromatic shrub to 1m. Stem slightly tomentose; terminal bud c. 1,5 cm. Petiole c. 1 cm; lamina ovate, 5-9 x 2-3 cm, coriaceous, adpressed rustytomentose below, fine veins impressed above. Inflorescence 5-8-flowered, peduncle c. 1 cm; pedicels 3,5-5 cm, brownish pubescent-tomentose; bracts and bracteoles c. 2,5 cm. Calyx lobes c. 1 mm. Corolla pale cream, campanulate, c. 3 cm diam.; tube 1,4-2,5 cm; lobes 1-1,5 cm, retuse, upper with greenish or brownish spots. Stamens 10. Ovary with dense, dark brown hairs; style 2,5-3 cm. Capsule 1,2-1,8 cm; seeds 1,2-1,6 mm. Fl. 5-7. On often N.-facing slopes above the tree line on acid soil, 2000-3000 m.
