Herb to 5 cm; stem glabrous to sparsely puberulent. Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3; petiole 1-2,5 cm; lamina orbicular to broadly elliptic, 1-2,2 cm broad, margin serrate. Flower solitary, pendulous, at end of 4-13 cm stalk; stalk often with a 3-6 mm bract near apex. Calyx 2 mm. Corolla white, rotate, 1,4-2 cm diam. Stamens 10; filaments 1,6-2 mm, anthers c. 3 mm, tubules narrow, c. 4 mm. Ovary 5-locular; style impressed, 3-4 mm, expanded at apex, stigma lobes large, erect. Fruit held erect. Fl. 6-7. Abies and Pinus sylvestris forests, 1500-2000 m.
