Differs from C. althaeoides in its indumentum of dense adpressed hairs, uppermost leaves lobed to the midrib, and outer sepals 4-7 mm. Fl. 4-6. Pilnus brutia forest, fields, beaches, phrygana, vineyards s.l.-1000m.
