Annuals, erect, up to 30 cm tall, with few branches. Leaves linear-lanceolate, 1-3 cm long, often revolute. inflorescence laxly 2-5-flowered. Bracts exstipulate, ovate to lanceolate, not more than 6mm long. Pedicels slender, deflexed in fruit, scarcely longer than the calyx. Inner sepals with prominent, dark-red nerves, sparsely forked-setose, longer than the petals. Capsules densely adpressed-pubescent. FI. 4. Dry sandy places near the sea.
