Annual. Stems erect, branched, 20-50 cm, retrorsely puberulent. Lower leaves narrowly oblong-spathulate to lanceolate, petiolate; upper leaves sessile, linear, lanceolate or oblanceolate; all setose-papillose. Inflorescence dichasial, the alar flowers erect. Calyx 13-16 mm, sharply constricted below the capsule in fruit, ridged, covered with broad-based scales in the upper part. Petals white, the limb bipartite. Anthophore 3-7 mm, glabrous. Capsule ovoid-oblong to ovoid globose.
