Perennial, glabrous except for leaf and bract margins, often viscid above, 20-50 cm. Basal leaves bright green, oblanceolate, linear or narrowly spathulate, sometimes papillose. Inflorescence a raceme or panicle with somewhat strict branches. Pedicels glabrous. Calyx 7-10 mm, often rupturing in fruit. Petals pale greenish, yellowish or whitish, deeply bifid. Anthophore 3-6 mm. Capsule usually bursting out of the calyx. Fl. 6-8. Rock ledges, open places, banks, etc., 1000-3400 m.
