Caespitose glabrous perennial with thin prostrate stems, flowering shoots 2-5 cm, 1-5-flowered. Leaves fleshy, linear-oblong, obtuse to acute, 2-6 x 1 mm. Bracts leafy, ciliate. Pedicels shorter than the calyx. Calyx campanulate-turbinate, 3-4 mm, teeth ovate-triangular, acute, ciliate. Petals pink, linear-cuneate, obtuse, 5-7 mm. Seeds with small flat tubercles. Fl. 7. Alpine pastures, 2100-2400 m.
