Perennial with a stout woody stock. Stems erect, branched, up to 30 cm, indumentum dimorphic, of short eglandular and longer glandular hairs. Leaves linear to narrowly oblanceolate, often with sterile shoots in their axils. Inflorescence a complex, many-flowered cyme. Calyx 8-9 mm, indumentum like that on the stern, the long hairs rigid and spreading, teeth occupying t or less of the calyx length, triangular-lanceolate, acute. Petals at first yellowish with purple bases, later entirely purplish.
Soviet Armenia. Ir.-Tur. element. A very attractive plant.
