Dwarf shrub. Stems 15-40 cm, much branched. Leaves alternate, glaucous, entire, sessile; lower elliptic. acute, 2-4 x 1-2 mm; upper ovate-oblong, 3-10 x 3-8 mm, obtuse to slightly mucronate. Sepals oblong-Ianceolate, obviously saccate. Petals · obovate-spathulate, pinkish-lilac. 4.5-7 x 2-4 mm, 3-nerved at base. Filaments free, outer c. 2 mm. entire. inner 3-4 mm, toothed, dilated at base; anthers apiculate. Inflorescence elongating in fruit, 15-30-flowered. Ovary bilocular. very rarely unilocular, each with 2-3 ovules. Fruiting pedicels recurved, 5-7 mm, Silicula oblong. sagittate at base. 7-10x 5-8 mm; septum c. 6-7 x 2 mm; wing entire slightly undulate. 2.5-3 mm; sinus c. 1 mm; style c. 1 mm. Seeds 2-4, papillose. Fl. 5-6. Steppe. 840-1200 m
