Similar to O. bulbotrichum but with calyx 15-17 mm in flower, to 28 mm in fruit, lobes to 4 mm wide ; corolla cream, 16-18 mm; nutlets to 6 x 3·5 mm, brownish, pyramidal with prominent dorsal keel and obtuse beak, warty or tuberculate, sometimes pubescent. Fl. 4-6. Steppe, fields, 300-880 m.
