Annual, 5-15 cm; stem ascending to erect, much-branched at base, patent-hairy at base, hairs antrorse above. Leaves to 4 x 1 cm, ovate-lanceolate. Inflorescence with numerous flowers. Pedicels clavate, thickened towards apex in fruit. Calyces in fruit in two rows, erecto-patent to antrorsely adpressed, often deciduous, to 4 mm. Limb of corolla to 3 mm diam., saucer-shaped, blue or white. Nutlets 1,2 x 0,8 mm, brown, without rim; attachment scar with two marginal grooves. 2n = 24. Fl. 4-6. Dry places, nr s.l.-2200 m.
