Resembling A. decumbens but stem shorter, 5-10 cm; sparsely adpressed-hispid, glabrescent; leaves adpressed-pilose; inflorescence denser, even in fruit; fruiting calyx 10-15 mm, lobes oblong-lanceolate, with a more prominently angular base, nerves projecting as 5 sparsely setose wings, strongly thickened; nutlets c. 3 mm, flattened-trigonal, shortly beaked. Fl. 5. Stony volcanic hillocks, c. 800 m.
