Erect annual. Stems 15-60 cm, often branched from base. Leaves oblong or spathulate, up to 7 x 0,75 cm, acute or subacute, somewhat attenuate at base but semi-amplexicaul and shortly decurrent. Capitula in clusters of 10 or more at apex of stems or in corymbs. Involucre 5-6mm broad; phyllaries oblong or oblanceolate, 3-4 x 0,5-1 mm, with green basal parts and white scarious apices. Female flowers 120-150, hermaphrodite flowers c. 30; corollas 2,25-2,5 mm. Achenes c. 0,5 mm, minutely puberulous with short obtuse hairs. Pappus white; hairs free at base, c. 2·5 mm, separately deciduous. Fl. 6-10. Stream sides and moist places, s.I.-1000 m.
