Plant white-felted, eglandular. Flowering stems 9-24 cm, slender, erect, arising from short thick branching caudices. Basal leaves forming dense tufts, spathulate, up to 12 mm; cauline leaves linear, adpressed to the stem. Capitula numerous, obpyramidal, 4-5 mm, borne in neat dense corymbs. Phyllaries regularly imbricate, adpressed, lemon-yellow. Flowers all hermaphrodite. Fl. 7. Rock ledges, 1200-1400 m.
