Plant densely grey-felted, up to 50 cm, with young shoots arising from a stout branching woody base. Leaves obovate-spathulate, 20-50 x 5-15 mm, very closely arranged below. Capitula numerous, obpyramidal, c. 3 mm, borne in loose, flat-topped corymbs. Phyllaries loosely imbricate, lemon yellow. Marginal flowers female. Fl. 7. Crevices of limestone cliffs, 1300-1800 m.
