Ascending or decumbent; greyish pubescent annual. Stems usually much branched and radiating from base, 5-20 cm. Leaves narrowly oblanceolate in outline, 1.5-3 cm, ± 1-pinnatisect, segments oblong, 2-5 x 0.75-1.5 mm, simple or margins sharply serrate. Capitula radiate; peduncles becoming thickened. Involucre 0.5-0.75 cm broad; outer phyllaries ovate-acuminate, inner oblong, narrowly scarious at apex. Receptacle conical; paleae ovate-oblong, shortly acuminate. Ray flowers 10-15, sterile; ligules 0.5-0.75 cm. Disc corollas c. 2.5 mm, not becoming inflated at base. Achenes cuneate, compressed, c. 1.5 mm, dark brown, almost smooth, unribbed; apex truncate, ecoronate. Fl. 5-6. Limestone slopes and steppe, 400-1800 m.
