Annual or biennial, stem usually 25-50 cm, profusely branched from near base, forming nearly globular 'bushes' with very numerous capitula. Leaves scabrous and slightly arachnoid, lower 2-pinnatisect, median pinnatisect and upper simple; segments, rachis and simple leaves c. 0,5-1,5 mm broad. Involucre 8-9 x 3-4 mm. Appendages medium-sized, spreading, straw-coloured , triangular with 5-7 cilia on each side, ending in a 2,5-3,5 mm spinule. Flowers whitish, rarely rose-coloured. Achenes 2.2-2,7 mm; pappus absent, very rarely 0,5-1 mm. Fl. 7-8. Hills, roadsides, waste places and fields, s.I.-900 m.
