Stems 5-20 cm. Indumentum adpressed, greyish-white throughout plant. Leaves 10-20 x 1,5-3 mm, linear to oblong-lanceolate, ± undulate at margin. Clusters of capitula 8-10 mm broad, subglobose, usually overtopped by subtending leaves. Inner paleae 5-8, 2-3 mm in fruit. Hermaphrodite flowers 3-5, whitish with reddish limb. Achenes 1,3 x 1mm, pale brown to grey. Fl. 4-5. Open dry pastures, scrubby slopes, roadsides, nr. s.l.-1400 m.
