Perennial. Bulb ovoid-globose, to c. 2 cm diam. Leaves 2, linear, 3-15 x 0.2-1.3 cm, channelled, glabrous; apex boat-shaped. Scape slender, 5-20 cm. Raceme 1-10-flowered, ovoid; lowest pedicels to 6 mm. Perianth segments pale sky-blue with darker blue fascia , 7-10 mm, 2-3 x tube; corona 2-3 mm, shallowly to deeply 6-fid. Anthers yellow. Fl. 4-8. Damp grassy flushes where snow has recently melted, 1700-3500 m.
