Bulb 5-15 cm diam. Leaves flat, 17-50 x 2-6 cm. Scape 100-150 cm. Inflorescence a dense raceme with numerous flowers. PediceIs 15-20 mm, patent during anthesis, becoming erect in fruit. Perianth segments white with greenish fascia, 7-8 mm. Anthers medifixed, 1.5-2 mm. 2n = 50. Fl. 9-11. Coastal habitats, s.l.-300 m, often flowering before the autumn rains.
