Erect, biennial herb. Flowering stems 40-80 cm, c. 1 cm diam., woody at base with remnants of previous year's petioles, striate, densely pubescent below, sparsely puberulent above, Rosette leaves persistent, densely pubescent on both surfaces; petiole 5-7 cm, dilated and sheathing at base; lamina ovate to oblong in outline, 5-10 x 2-5 cm, imparipinnate, sometimes bipinnate with 4-6 pairs of sessile segments; segments overlapping, pinnatilobed to pinnatisect, lower lateral segments elliptic-ovate, 2-3 x 1-1.5 cm. Cauline leaves gradually reduced; upper leaves pinnatisect, obovate to oblong in outline, 0.35-1.5 x 0.2-0.9 cm. Peduncles of compound umbels 1-6 cm. Rays 8-10, unequal, 1.2-3.6 mm, glabrous; bracts 5, oblong to orbicular, equal, 5.7-7.2 x 4-5.6 mm, persistent, outer surface pubescent, margins scarious, brownish, ciliate; umbellules 8-10-flowered; bracteoles 7, unequal, ovate-orbicular, acute, mucronate, glabrous, not hardening in fruit; three larger bracteoles 4-6 x 2-3.5 mm, four smaller bracteoles 2-3.5 x 1.7-2 mm. Two outer sepals of outer flowers shining yellowish, 1-2 x 0.5-1 mm; petals yellow, oblong-ovate, 0.7-1.2 x 0.3-0.7 mm, apex incurved; stylopodium peltate, 0.5-0.9 mm diam. Central hermaphrodite flower sessile; sepals absent; petals 5; ovarium oblong-ovoid, 1.5-2.5 x 1-1.4 mm, hirsute; style 2, 1-2.8 mm, glabrous; stigma capitate, purple. Fruit 6 x 2 mm, embedded in thickening pedicels of umbellule to 1/3 as long as its whole length, asymetric, oblong to oblong-ovoid, narrowed to stylopodium, hirsute above middle; stylopodium narrow, 0.5 mm diam, FJ. 8. Slopes of eroded hills, 1000-1600 m.
