Bulb ovoid or globose, 1-1.5 cm diam.; outer tunics blackish. Stem 7.5-25 cm, slender. Leaves 2-4, narrowly linear, 2-6 mm broad, sometimes curled and twisted, minutely serrulate at margin, nearly as long as or longer than stem. Spathe 2-3-valved; valves nearly as long as pedicels. Umbel 2-3 cm diam. Pedicels slender, equal, nearly 2 x perianth. Perianth stellate-patent; segments white, pale pink, lavender, mauve-pink or pale purple with a deep greenish-purple midvein, narrowly linear-lanceolate, 4-5 mm, elongate, somewhat acute. Filaments c. as long as perianth, gradually attenuate-subulate. Anthers purple. Capsule ovoid-trigonous, c. 5 mm. Fl. 4-5. Rocky slopes, sandy limy soil with Quercus and Juniperus, fallow fields, s.l.-1800 m.
