Biennial, 50-120 cm, hard and rough yellowish tomentose, glandular above, usually glabrescent. Stem terete, branched from base. Basal leaves broadly or narrowly oblong, 6-35 x 2-15 cm, coarsely lobed or pinnatifid, often ± undulate, petiole 3-10 cm; upper cauline semi-amplexicaul,± triangular, acuminate, coarsely dentate. Inflorescence loose, branched, forming broad panicle. With clusters of 2-7 flowers. Bracts broadly cordate-triangular, mucronate, with glandular and eglandular hairs. Pedicels to 4 mm; bracteoles ovate. Calyx 5-7,5 mm, densely glandular, with sparse eglandular hairs, lobes ovate-oblong, acutish to acute. Corolla yellow, 30-40 mm diam., with or without sparse pellucid glands, stellate-tomentose outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with purple-violet wool, 2 anterior glabrous above. Capsule broadly elliptic, 4-4,5 x 3-3,5 mm, stellate-tomentose. Fl. 5-6. Pastures, Pinus brutiafqrest, 100-650 m.
