Biennial, 40-150 cm, glandular-pubescent, with short glandular and longer, articulate, eglandular simple hairs. Stem terete, usually branched. Basal leaves lyrate-pinnatisect, terminal lobe oblong to broadly ovate, 5-16 x 3-13 cm, coarsely crenate-dentate or lobed below, lateral lobes 1-4-paired, small, lanceolate, dentate; cauline smaller, upper sessile, ovate- to cordate-triangular, acute to acuminate, dentate. Inflorescence lax, simple or with few branches, many-flowered. Lower bracts cordate-triangular, acuminate, dentate, upper linear-cuspidate. Pedicels 10-40 mm, ebracteolate. Calyx 3-8 mm, lobes lanceolate to broadly ovate, acute to acuminate. Corolla yellow, 25-35 mm diam., without pellucid glands, with eglandular and glandular hairs outside. Filament hairs purple-violet, 2 anterior filaments glabrous near apex, anthers 2,5-3,5 mm, decurrent.m Capsule broadly ovate to globose, 4-6 mm, glabrous. Fl. 5-7. Pastures, macchie, Quercus scrub, Pinus forest, 200-1700 m.
