Deciduous or partly evergreen shrub or small tree up to 5 m. Young branches pubescent, later glabrescent, reddish brown. Leaf blade coriaceous, usually 3-lobed to halfway or less, rarely undivided, 1,5-2,5 x 2,5-3,5 cm, rounded or cordate at base, lobes broadly ovate-triangular, obtuse with a horny, subentire or crenate-denticulate margin, glabrous on both sides, petiole usually glabrous, 4-15 mm, not lactiferous. Flowers in erect, subsessile, up to 5-flowered corymbs. Fruit wings nearly parallel to divaricate , 13-18 x 4-8 mm; nutlets not compressed, ovate, glabrous; loculus glabrous. Fl. spring. Rocky limestone slopes, gorges, 100-1100 m.
