Tree up to 20 m. Branches glabrous, bloomy when young, greenish brown in the second year. Leaf blade 5-7-lobed to not more than halfway, 4-10 x 6-16 cm, cordate to truncate at base, lobes ovate-triangular, entire, acuminate, glabrous except for hairs in the axils of the main nerves beneath; petiole glabrous, 3-12 cm, lactiferous. Flowers in erect corymbs. Fruit wings 10-25 x 4-12, widely divaricate ; nutlets compressed, ovate, glabrous; loculus glabrous.
