Leaves to 0.5 mm broad, usually acute; sheaths of involucral leaves slightly inflated. Peduncles to 3 cm in fruit, usually recurved but not spirally coiled. Anthers c. 0.5 mm, elliptic. Nutlets 2mm , very obliquely ovoid, often curved; stipes 0.2-1.5 cm in fruit Fl. 3-6. Brackish lagoons, lakes, river mouths, s.l.-5 m.
