Trailing or scrambling sub-shrub. Stems to 2 m, often prostrate at base, 6-angled, usually shortly puberulent, minutely retrorsely scabrid on angles to almost smooth. Leaves semi-evergreen, coriaceous, in whorls of 4-6, c. 10-35 x 2-11 mm, broadly obovate or ovate to oblong, narrowly lanceolate or sublinear, mucronate, cuneate towards the subsessile to sessile base, 1-veined, antrorsely and partly retrorsely scabrid along the slightly revolute margins. Partial inflorescences lateral only, scarcely exceeding subtending bracts, with rather few-flowered cymes. Pedicels 2-8 mm, shortly puberulent to subglabrous. Corolla creamy-yellow to yellowish-green, 3-7 mm diam., rotate, lobes lanceolate, long-acuminate or caudate-aristate . Anthers c. 0.2-0.3 mm diam., semi-globose. Mericarps 4-6 mm diam., black. Fl. 4-5. Scrub or rocky slopes, usually calcareous, s.l.-1500 m.
