Similar to L. gmelinii, but stems generally taller ; scapes repeatedly branched; outer bract usually with excurrent vein; inner bract two-thirds of length of calyx; spikelets usually more than 5 mm, often more laxly disposed within the spikes. Fl. 5-6. Rocky limestone slopes, maritime salt-flats, nr. s.l.
