Stems 15-18 cm high, with 1-2 branches from scale-leaf axil. Leaves slightly glaucous, long-stalked, 3-4x ternately divided with deeply cleft leaflets; ultimate leaflobes narrowly lanceolate to oblong or narrowly abovate, Raceme 7-15-flowered. Bracts sessile or often clearly stalked, flabellate-divided into c. 5 segments. Pedicels thin, 5-15 mm, slightly elongating and recurved in fruit. Corolla whitish or usually pale purplish pink with tips of inner petals dark-dipped, less commonly rich purple. Spur 15-22 mm long, straight to sigmoidal, very slender, tapering. Nectary shortly acuminate, 3-4 mm long. Lower petal dilated towards truncate or slightly marginate apex, 4-6 mm broad. Inner petals 10 mm long. Capsule lanceolate, sub-biseriate, 15-22 x 4mm, 6-10-seeded. Seeds 2.2 mm, with a short beak, 2n=16*. Fl. 4. N-facing calcareous slopeson limestone, 1000-1100 m.
