Perennial. Stems 5-15 cm, several, ascending, unbranched, eglandular-villous, with thin spreading roots. Leaves oblong-linear, simply pinnatisect, 15-35 x 4-10 mm, serrate; cauline few, verticillate, sessile. Inflorescence an oblong loosely condensed or interrupted spike, arachnoid-lanate. Bracts ovate, apically irregularly pinnatifid. Pedicels erect-spreading, 1-3 mm. Calyx tubular campanulate, 7-9 mm; tube 4-5 mm; lobes 2-3 mm. Corolla purple, 15-20 mm; tube c. 10 mm, ± straight or curved; upper lip arcuate-falcate, tapered into a descending thickish beak c. 2 mm. Anthers not mucronate; filaments glabrous. Capsule ovate-oblong, c. 14 x 6 mm, glabrous, acute, curved. Fl. 7-8. Near melting snow, 3000-4420 m .
