Stems 1-1.5 m, hollow. Lower cauline leaves 12-20 x 7-15 cm, glabrous above, ± densely hairy beneath; upper similar but smaller, narrowly elliptic. Inflorescence pyramidal, lower branches patent. Pedicels 2-3 mm, pubescent. Perianth segments green on both surfaces, 6-12 x 2-4.5 mm, elliptic to lanceolate, inner slightly smaller than outer. Capsule narrowly ovoid. Fl. 6-8. Damp grassy slopes, edge of forest, 1400-1900 m.
