Stem to 50 cm. Leaves 1.5-6 x 0.5-1.5 cm, oblong-obovate, obtuse. Flowers 6-merous. Male tepals 3-4.5 mm, ovate, acute, rudimentary ovary present. Female tepals 1.5-2 mm, narrowly oblong, staminodes present. Fruit to 10 mm, pyriform-globose, yellow. Fl. 5-6. Usually on members of the Fagaceae, 600-2000 m.
