Erect or ascending annual, 15-60 cm. Leaflets up to 3 cm, obovate to elliptic. Inflorescence up to 4 cm wide, ovate to globose, ,elongating in fruit. Calyx with indistinct transverse as well as longitudinal veins, slightly inflating in fruit. Corolla 1,2-1,5 cm, pink to purple. Fl. 7. In forest clearings, etc., s.l-630 m.
Balkans, Italy, Sicily. Differing from the C. European var. vesiculosum in being generally smaller, and in the less pronounced transverse veins and weaker inflation of the calyx.
