Procumbent to ascending annual, 10-40 cm. Leaflets 0,6-1,8 cm, obovate, cuneate, apex emarginate to obcordate. Inflorescence many-flowered, peduncles 1-10 cm. Corollate flowers 10-16 in 2 rows. Calyx of fertile flowers adpressed-hairy, lobes slightly unequal. Corolla white or pale pink 6-9 mm. Fruiting head 15-75 mm diam., a depressed-globose, fleecy body. Sterile flowers with long, pilose teeth. Fl. 2-6. Open hillsides, amongst scrub, s.l.-900 m.
